Identification and characterization of biological properties of microorganisms

The CCMPA provides comprehensive identification and in-depth characterization services for microbial cultures. We perform accurate determination of the taxonomic position of isolates at the genus and species levels, and conduct advanced physiological, morphological, and molecular-genetic studies for the complete passportization of your strains.

Molecular-Genetic Identification to the Genus Level

For the rapid and accurate determination of the taxonomic position of isolates, we offer an identification service for bacteria and fungi based on the sequence analysis of marker regions (specifically, the 16S rRNA gene for bacteria and the ITS region for fungi). This is a classical, reliable, and universally recognized molecular approach that allows for the unambiguous determination of the phylogenetic affiliation of the studied microorganism to the appropriate taxon.

Whole-Genome Analysis and Species Determination

We perform high-precision phylogenetic analysis of microbial cultures based on whole-genome sequencing (WGS). This service includes sequencing and comprehensive bioinformatic processing of genomic data, calculating key taxonomic indices: Average Nucleotide Identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA Hybridization (dDDH). Such analysis meets the highest modern standards and is essential for the accurate passportization of valuable industrial strains or the preparation of scientific publications describing new species.

Comprehensive Physiological, Morphological, and Additional Genetic Studies

We conduct advanced studies of microorganisms based on individual customer requests. We offer a detailed examination of cultural and morphological properties, compilation of physiological and biochemical profiles, as well as specific genetic screening (for example, targeted search for specific genes or secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters). We guarantee complete confidentiality regarding the received samples and research results in accordance with the customer’s requirements.
