DNA is a polymer of deoxyribonucleotides (or simply deoxynucleotides) glued together. It consists of deoxyadenylate (dAMP), deoxyguanylate (dGMP), deoxycytidylate (dCMP), and deoxythymidylate (dTMP) units (some authors prefer to use TMP instead of deoxythymidylate because it is only found in DNA.)
